Animations

Over on the east-side of the hundred acre woods we happen upon the animations. Ecstatic little gremlins known for their erratic movements and spastic personalities. Here we will attempt to keep close to the animations so that we may study their social behavior and how they interact with humans.

Eloso - Real (Remix). 2017. AfterEffects

This animation depicts a fully shadowed figure rapping with animations playing on top that have relevance to the words being said. All lyrics were written by myself personally, the beat was produced by Madlib and the original song that inspired this one was written by Freddie Gibbs. The video was shot and in part edited by a friend of mine Matthew, and all other editing and animation was completed by myself personally. This piece was created as a statement of how hip-hop is eating itself alive. Hip-Hop was once a force of empowerment for the community and a podium for the voiceless to speak, now it is another tool of oppression keeping people down by typecasting them and discouraging individuality or actual pervasive perspective on what is going on around you.

This .gif depicts a character going from confused, to scared, to highly skeptical. It was created entirely using frame by frame animation in Animate CC with the paintbrush tool. This piece was created as a study in animation, more specifically how to create animated expressive faces on characters.

This .gif depicts a samurai standing in tall grass on a windy day with his sword clutched in hand. Each frame was drawn by hand and then assembled in Photoshop. This piece was inspired by the television show Samurai Jack and was created mostly for fun but also to test my animation skills.
